BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2026 Week 8/March 11 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Defending National Champion Stanford University remains at No. 1 in the National Top 25, while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retains the lead position in the Division III Top 10 Poll.
Defending CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College continues as a unanimous top choice in the CWPA Division III Top Five, while the University of Michigan garners all the first place votes in rising to be the consensus No. 1 in the CWPA Top Five.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.
2026 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 8)
Defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion Stanford University continues at No. 1 in the 2026 Week 8/March 11 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinal (100 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (96 points), the University of Southern California (92 points) and the University of California (88 points) remain the Top Four teams in the nation., while Arizona State University (82 points) and the University of Hawaii (82 points) re-enter a tie at No. 5 after the Sun Devils pulled ahead of the Wahine last week.
Loyola Marymount University (75 points), Long Beach State University (72 points), Indiana University (67 points) and the University of California-Irvine (62 points) maintain the No. 7-to-10 positions, respectively.
The University of Michigan (61 points) gains sole control of the No. 11 berth with Fresno State University (54 points) and Harvard University (54 points) tying at No. 12.
Princeton University (46 points), the University of California-Davis (44 points) and the University of California-San Diego (40 points) shatter a three-way tie at No. 14 from last week to stand at No. 14-to-16 this week.
Marist University (37 points) and San Jose State University (33 points) exchange the No. 17 and 18 positions with San Diego State University (26 points), Wagner College (22 points), University of the Pacific (21 points), Brown University (20 points), California Baptist University (10 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (7 points) acquiring the No. 19-to-24 marks.
California State University-Northridge (4 points) and Villanova University (4 points) tie for the final position in the Top 25.

The Sagehens (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), California Lutheran University (88 points), Chapman University (86 points), Augustana College (81 points), Occidental College (73 points) and Austin College (70 points) remain at No. 1-to-7 with Whittier College (65 points) breaking into the Top 10 at No. 8.
Macalester College (38 points) and the University of La Verne (33 points) complete the Top 10.

The 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Wolverines (100 points) become a unanimous top choice to remain in front of 2025 CWPA Champion Harvard University (93 points) and 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (92 points).
Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) again complete the Top Five.
