2024 Women’s Collegiate Club Heartland Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases changes to the 2024 Women’s Collegiate Club Heartland Division schedule.
Featuring Carleton College, Grinnell College and Knox College, the three-team division is the smallest in the history of the Women’s Collegiate Club ranks and will contest a pair of regular season tournaments prior to the division championship on Saturday-Sunday, April 20-21, at Grinnell in Grinnell, Iowa.
In the history of the division, Macalester College (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004), Carleton (2002, 2006, 2009, 2019), Wheaton College (2005), Lindenwood University (2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013), Illinois State University (2010), Washington University in St. Louis (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) and Grinnell (2022, 2023) have previously captured the group’s crown. A division champion was not crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating the completion and start of the campaigns, respectively. In addition, the division did not contest a season in 2000.
The change occurs for both regular weekends as game times are adjusted. Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, February 24-25, at Carleton in Northfield, Minn., with six games. The regular season continues at Carleton on Saturday-Sunday, April 13-14, with another six games.
The regular season comes to a close during the Heartland Division Championship as the final three games to establish the event’s seeding occur on Saturday, April 20, at Grinnell. On Sunday, April 21, the No. 2 and 3 seeds compete at 9:00 a.m. to determine Third Place prior to the title tilt at 11:30 a.m. featuring the victor of the No. 2 and 3 seed contest against the No. 1 seed.
