2024 Women’s Division III Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases changes to the schedule of league games for the 2024 Women’s Division III season.
The division membership diminishes to nine teams in 2024 as Utica University and Wittenberg University eliminated their women’s water polo programs, while Wheaton College (Mass.) joins the league.
The group is divided into two regions for the opening weekends as Connecticut College, Grove City College, Penn State Behrend, Washington & Jefferson College and Wheaton compete in a 10-event East Region slate at W&J in Washington, Pa., on either Friday-Sunday, March 8-10. On Saturday-Sunday, March 23-24, Augustana College, Austin College, Carthage College, Macalester College and Washington & Jefferson contest another 10-game weekend at Macalester in St. Paul, Minn., in the West Region.
Eight of the nine league teams – as Washington & Jefferson completes a regular season round robin against the rest of the league at the W&J and Macalester weekends – then converge on Erie, Pa., for the final 16 regular season games to establish the final seeding for the three-day, 15-game Division III Championship scheduled for Friday-Sunday, April 19-21, at Connecticut College in New London, Conn.
The victor and runner-up from the CWPA Division III Championship earn berths to the 2024 USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Water Polo Championship at a site to be determined.
