2024 Men’s Collegiate Club New York Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases a revised 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club New York Division schedule following the elimination of the United States Merchant Marine Academy as a competing team and additional pool time at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Saturday-Sunday, September 21-22.
Cornell University, New York University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Syracuse University, the United States Coast Guard Academy and the United States Military Academy will compete in the six-team division this year as the grouping contests its 29th season of competition in 2024.
Historically, the New York Division has been captured by Army (1995, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023), the Rochester Institute of Technology (1996), the University of Rochester (1996), Cornell (2000, 2012, 2013, 2014), Colgate University (2003, 2005), Merchant Marine (2004), Columbia University (2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015), NYU (2007) and Cornell (2021). The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A pair of regular season tournaments are slated as RPI in Troy, N.Y., now hosts 12 games on Saturday-Sunday, September 21-22, while Army in West Point, N.Y.., is the site of another 12-game weekend on Saturday-Sunday, September 28-29.
Note that games on Sunday, September 22, at RPI will utilize six-minute quarters with no overtime slated to be played and teams limited to one 30-second timeout per half.
The New York Division Championship is currently slated for Saturday-Sunday, October 19-20, at RPI with the victor of the weekend earning the group’s automatic berth to the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on November 8-10 at a site to be determined.
