2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases an updated  2022 Men’s Collegiate Club Texas Division schedule with a new date for the division championship.

Comprised of Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Rice University, Texas A&M University “A”, Texas A&M University “B”, Texas State University, Texas Tech University, the University of Houston, the University of North Texas, the University of Texas “A” and the University of Texas “B”, the division will compete in its 20th season as part of the CWPA with Texas A&M (2001, 2002, 2007, 2008, 2016), Texas (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021) and Texas Tech (2011) combining to capture all the previous titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On September 29, Rice informed the league office of the institution’s ability to host the division championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 29-30, in Houston, Texas.  The 17-game event will utilize six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and one timeout per team/per half for the first 16 games of the tournament prior to the First Place clash.  The title tilt will utilize seven-minute quarters and regulation rules (overtime, timeouts, etc.). 

Bracket C at the championship plays round robin to determine Eighth-to-11th Place, while the Loser of Game 2 and the Loser of Game 3 along with Third Place in Bracket A play for Fifth-to-Seventh Place.
