NEW LONDON Conn. — Connecticut College, a highly selective private liberal arts college in New London, Conn., is conducting a national search for an Assistant Coach of Men’s and Women’s Water Polo.  This is an academic year (44 week), full time (37.5 hours/week) term appointment ending June 2023. Compensation includes a robust benefits package.

The Assistant Coach will assist the head coach with all aspects of a Division III water polo program for both teams.  The Assistant Coach will be responsible for coaching/teaching, including development of practice plans, in-water teaching of skills and team concepts, dryland training and application of opponent scouting reports to practice sessions; assist with executing a recruitment plan including hosting on-campus visits, development of prospect data base, frequent communication with prospects through e-mail, phone, and text messaging; communicate with team on practice times, away game departure times, meeting times, coordinate team operations, including uniform and equipment distribution and inventory, doing daily laundry, coordinate travel plan-bus departure times, team meals, hotel room assignments, and coordinate home game preparations.

Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience in water polo at the collegiate or similar level required; must have the ability to recruit student-athletes capable of succeeding at a highly selective liberal arts institution competing at the highest level of Division III.  The successful candidate will also have the highest ethical standards with regard to NCAA, CWPA and NESCAC rules.
