LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. — The Connecticut College women’s water polo team split a pair of matches against Utica College and host Siena College. The Camels first registered a 10-9 victory over the Pioneers before falling by an 18-1 decision to the Saints.

The Camels started the day on a high note by building up a four-goal lead and holding off a late charge by Utica. Sophomore Ashley Ignatowski (Guilford, Conn.) and senior Paige Cackovic (New Albany, Ohio) scored back-to-back goals to give Connecticut College a lead it would never surrender, and senior Sarah Nappo (Portland, Maine) found the back of the net with 3:18 remaining in regulation for what would also stand as the deciding tally.

Facing a Division I opponent for the second time this week, Connecticut College registered the first goal in its second game against a rested Siena squad courtesy of senior April Anderson (Mill Valley, Calif.). However, the Saints answered back with 18 straight goals to come away with the convincing victory.
