BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Connecticut College’s Emma Luna (Fr., Wahiawa, Hawaii/Punahou School) posted seven goals, two assists and four steals during a 1-1 season-opening weekend at home in the Lott Natatorium on Saturday, March 4, to share status as the March 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the Week.
Facing Utica University in a non-league game, she tallied a goal and a steal in three minutes of action to help the Camels stop the Pioneers, 15-9. Later in the day, she accounted for six goals, two assists and three steals as Connecticut suffered a 10-9 setback against Carthage College in another non-league contest.
She shares Rookie of the Week recognition with Casey Barragan (So., Commerce, Calif./La Serna) of Division III No. 5-ranked Augustana College who compiled 12 goals and 11 exclusions drawn during a 2-2 weekend at the Claremont Convergence.
