BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Gigi Sandull (So., Kenilworth, N.J./Union County Vocational-Technical Schools), Sarah Franco (Sr., Weston, Conn./Weston) and Emma Luna (So., Wahiawa, Hawaii/Punahou School) combined for 39 goals, 25 assists, 33 steals and seven field blocks during a 4-0 season-opening week for the Camels of Connecticut College.  For the trio’s combined performance, Sandull, Franco and Luna share status as the March 11 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.

A two-time Player (April 3, April 17) and Rookie (March 20, April 3) of the Week selection during the 2023 season, Sandull concluded the week with 18 goals, four assists and 12 steals as Connecticut powered past host Wheaton College (19-3 W) in Norton, Mass., on Wednesday, March 6, prior to downing league foes Grove City College (20-12 W), Wheaton (17-4 W), Penn State Behrend (14-13 W) and host Washington & Jefferson College (18-16 OT W) on Saturday-Sunday, March 9-10, in Washington, Pa.

A two-time (April 3, April 10) Defensive Player of the Week honoree in 2023, Franco tacked on 10 goals, 11 assists, 12 steals and five field blocks to garner her inaugural Player of the Week nod, while two-time (March 6, April 10) 2023 Rookie of the Week Luna added 11 goals, 10 assists, nine steals and two field blocks for her second Player of the Week kudo after earning the April 10 award last season.
