BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maddie Baybeck (Fr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Pionneer) of Connecticut College racked up 24 saves, four assists, seven steals and three goals during a 4-0 week for the Camels to earn status as the March 11 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

A first-time honor recipient from the league office, Baybeck started the week by stopping seven shots and allowing two goals in 16 minutes of work during a 19-3 road win at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., on Wednesday, March 6.

Competing in CWPA Division III East Region tournament hosted by Washington & Jefferson College at the Henry Memorial Natatorium in Washington, Pa., on Saturday-Sunday, March 9-10, she capped off the week by helping the Camels down Grove City College (20-12 W), the host Presidents (18-16 OT W), Wheaton (17-4 W) and Penn State Behrend (14-13 W).

She competed in the field during the second meeting of the week versus Wheaton and notched a hat-trick with three goals in the victory.
