BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Yiota Tsiali (So., Varvara, Greece/Anatolia College) of Connecticut College made 10 saves in a pair of quarters in the shallow end as the Camels dropped a 23-8 decision at Iona University last week. For her efforts, Tsiali is named the March 27 Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
A first-time weekly honor recipient from the league office, she becomes the first Connecticut women’s water polo athlete to earn Defensive Player of the Week status since Olivia Fechner-Lewis on March 22, 2021.
