BRIDGEPORT, Pa. —  The CWPA Remote series continues as Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Hall of Fame member George Gross, Jr., talks with Connecticut College alumnus and Iris Automation Account Executive Daniel O’Shea.

A 2008 graduate of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and English, O’Shea works at Iris Automation – which provide artificial-intelligence detect-and-avoid hardware/software to eliminate mid-air accidents.

A prior Inside Sales Representative and Business Development Consultant with Oracle, he previously served as head coach of boys and girls varsity and junior varsity water polo at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., from August 2011-to-June 2018.  While there, he led the girls’ team for seven years and the boys’ squad for three seasons.  The 2012 and 2014 Girls’ New England Champions, Phillips Academy claimed six New England Girls Championship tournament appearances and two New England Boys Championship tournament appearances during his tenure.

In addition to his experiences at Iris and Oracle, he previously worked as a sales representative at AppStar Financial following a four-year stretch at Verisk as a Sales Account Manager.

Outside of work, he completed an independent study in Human Osteology in collaboration with the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Human Identification Division while at Connecticut.  Further, he continued his education with graduate coursework in Human Skeletal Biology at New York University (2009-2010) and previously completed coursework in forensic investigation and human anatomy at Tufts University (2006).
