Due to the inherent risks and opportunities associated with operating a premier swimming and diving facility, the coordinator must be highly communicative and collaborative with internal and external stakeholders, prioritizing facility safety. A strong, positive relationship with Denison’s varsity swimming and diving program – and future collegiate club/varsity water polo team – is essential to the success of this position.
Responsibilities include:

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise all aquatics staff, including lifeguards. Conduct regular staff meetings and in-service training to ensure staff maintain required certifications and up-to-date safety procedures. Communicate and manage requests from third parties interested in reserving the Aquatics Center; responsible for scheduling third party training or competition times.
- Responsible for the planning, administration, and oversight of all intramural sports, including developing leagues, tournaments, and special events that cater to a diverse student population. The coordinator hires, trains, and supervises student staff, manages the program budget, and ensures all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with university policies.
- Serve as member of facilities and game operations teams for regular season and NCAA and NCAC championships unaffiliated with the Aquatics Center. Assist in hosting visiting teams, officials and collaborate with campus security and facility staff, visiting fans, parents, alumni, and students on site.
- Meet manager at home swim and dive events, including hosting the NCAC Championships. Operate the timing / scoreboard systems at home events, and train coaches and staff on use of the technology and all related equipment, as directed.
