SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Macalester College water polo team closed out the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-West Region weekend at Wittenberg University with a 17-4 loss to Division III No. 5-ranked Austin College.
The Scots return home to St, Paul, Minn., with a 2-9 record overall and a 1-2 mark in CWPA Division III-West Region play.
Austin jumped out to an 8-2 lead after two quarters and recorded seven goals in the third quarter to put the match out of reach.
Senior Riley Waters (Portland, Oregon/St. Mary’s Academy) scored goals in the first and fourth quarters, with senior Annika Krueger (Emerald Hills, Calif./Sequoia) and junior Eleanor Michaud (Long Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) also scoring for the Scots.
