- Bates jumped out to a 6-2 lead by the conclusion of the first quarter and outscored Macalester 6-2 and 9-2 in the second and third quarters, respectively, to hold a 21-6 margin heading into the fourth quarter. The Sons of Neptune chipped its final deficit down to 12 prior to the final horn as Macalester put away a trio of chances in the fourth quarter.
