BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Owen Bartlett (Fr., Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) of Division III No. 8-ranked Johns Hopkins University led the Blue Jays with 11 goals, two assists, four steals and 10 drawn ejections at the United States Air Force Academy’s Rare Air Challenge.  For his offensive and defensive exploits, he is named the September 4 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.

On Saturday, September 2, he started his intercollegiate tenure by scoring twice, drawing a pair of ejections and snagging a steal in a 22-6 loss to the host/No. 20 Falcons of Air Force.  He added another pair of goals in a 20-8 loss to Division III No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges to close out the day.  

On Sunday, September 3, Bartlett notched his first hat trick with an assist along with two drawn ejections and two steals as the Blue Jays fell to Division III No. 1 the University of Redlands, 20-15. He capped off the weekend by racking up four goals, an assist, six ejections and a steal in a 14-13 setback against Division III No. 5 California Lutheran University.
