BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Kevin Kraatz of 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship runner-up California Maritime Academy needs help from the water polo community as the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club All-America Second Team, Sierra Pacific Division All-Conference Second Team and National Collegiate Club Championship All-Tournament Second Team selection was diagnosed with Metastatic Testicular Cancer on December 2 at the age of 22.

Currently in his senior year seeking a Marine Transportation Management degree at Cal Poly Maritime Academy (formerly California Maritime Academy) in Vallejo, Calif., he has played water polo since the age of nine.  A graduate of Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego and a native of Oceanside, Calif., he helped the Keelhaulers of Cal Maritime achieve an all-time best finish at the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by the University of Florida in November 2024.

A GoFundMe page was established to help raise monetary donations that will go towards treatment co-pays, insurance costs and premiums, a possible lapse in college enrollment expenses/placeholder fees, medications, recovery/alternative medicine services/ supplies, possible travel to/from Vallejo to finish finals for this semester.
