BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Emily Nguyen (Sr., The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) of Texas A&M University “A” led the Aggies to a 3-1 record during the opening weekend of Texas Division competition at Rice University in Houston, Texas, to earn recognition as the February 2 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Player of the Week.
She posted 15 goals, three assists and six steals during the weekend as Texas A&M defeated the University of Houston (28-7 W), Rice (13-2 W) and Texas State University (20-4 W) to accompany an 11-5 loss to the University of Texas.
Nguyen accounted for close to a quarter of her team’s offensive output (15-of-66 goals) as she scored twice versus Texas, four times against both Rice and Houston along with five markers in turning back Texas State.
