BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Ethan Zirh (Sydney, Australia/Castle Hill) of the Wagner College men’s water polo team, who graduated with a 3.96 GPA in Biopsychology, is the recipient of the institution’s 2022 Male Student-Athlete Merit Award.

During the 2021 season, Zirh stopped a single season record of 320 saves. Also during the 2021 season, the Sydney, Australia native broke the program record with 607 career saves. In 2019, he was named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic Team, the Northeast Conference (NEC) Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll and the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.  Zirh was also named to the 2021 ACWPC All-Academic Team and was claimed back-to-back Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week honors on October 6 and October 13, 2021. Zirh started all 34 games in between the pipes for the Seahawks while tallying 35 steals and holding a .463 save percentage.
