BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Ognjen Antanaskovic (So., Belgrade, Serbia), Vukasin Petrovic (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade Grammar School), Nemanja Pljevancic (Jr., Moscow, Russia/North Allegheny), Boris Posavec (Fr., Zagreb, Croatia/Marina) and Tadeu Rodrigues (Fr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/Colegio Pedro II) of St. Francis College Brooklyn honored recognition on the 2016 Northeast Conference Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
The quintet are the only water polo players recognized on the NEC Fall Commissioner’s Honor Roll and are among a total of 28 St. Francis Brooklyn student-athletes recognized by the league.
Overall, the NEC’s Fall Academic Honor Roll consists of 680 student-athletes with a 3.20 or better grade point average, a 3.7 percent increase from 2015.
Now in its 36th year, the Northeast Conference is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I collegiate athletic association consisting of 10 institutions of higher learning located throughout six states. Founded in 1981 as the basketball-only Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro Conference, the NEC has grown to sponsor 22 championship sports for men and women and now enjoys automatic access to 14 different NCAA Championships. NEC member institutions include Bryant University, Central Connecticut University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Long Island University-Brooklyn, Mount St. Mary’s, Robert Morris University, Sacred Heart University, St. Francis Brooklyn, Saint Francis University and Wagner College.
