BRIDGEPORT, Pa, — Goalie Bailey O’Mara (Sr., Darien, Conn./Darien) of No. 16-ranked Fordham University totaled 29 saves, four steals, two assists and a penalty block with a 5.33 goals against average and a .640 save percentage during a 4-1 season-opening weekend for the Rams at the Brown University Bruno Classic to garner status as the September 6 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

Now an eight-time Defensive Player of the Week selection following notice on October 22 during the 2018 season prior to taking the September 9, September 23, October 7, November 11, November 18 and November 18 accolades during the 2019 campaign, he started the weekend with four saves and one goal against over two-plus quarters against Division III No 5 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in a 16-5 victory at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool.  He chipped in nine saves, including a penalty block, to go with two steals a 10-8 defeat of Harvard to conclude action on Saturday, September 4.

On Sunday, September 5, at Brown, he notched 12 saves, a steal, and an assist in a 6-5 loss to No. 15 Santa Clara University and conclude the weekend with playing just over a quarter in a 25-5 win over Mercyhurst University.  He posted four saves, a steal and an assist during his limited time between the pipes against the Lakers for the Rams.
