BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Bailey O’Mara (So., Darien, Conn./Darien) of Fordham University anchored the Rams to a 3-1 record at the United States Naval Academy’s Navy Open in Annapolis, Md., on Saturday-Sunday, September 7-8, to garner accolades as the September 9 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time Defensive Player of the Week selection following a notice on October 22 during the 2018 season, O’Mara took a loss to No. 2-ranked the University of California-Los Angeles (15-3 L) prior to getting the Rams rolling at Navy.

He notched 10 saves with six goals allowed over the span of three and a half quarters in a 15-7 defeat of Iona College prior to stopping six shots with two steals, an assist and five goals allowed in three and three-quarter frames during a 15-6 victory over La Salle University.

O’Mara closed out the weekend by turning aside eight chances with three goals allowed and a pair of steals in a 21-4 win against Austin College.
