BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Barnabas Eppel (Fr., Budapest, Hungary/Budenz József Alapítványi Gimnázium) of No. 15-ranked Fordham University earns October 30 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week laurels for tallying seven goals, an assist, three steals and nine ejections drawn during a 3-0 league weekend at home in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.

A three-time Rookie of the Week honoree this season with prior recognition on October 2 and October 23, he scored three times with a pair of field blocks and three ejections drawn on Saturday, October 28, in an 11-10 defeat of George Washington University to to help the Rams clinch the No. 1 seed for the upcoming MAWPC Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 17-19, at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.  Eppel netted a pair of markers and drew three ejections later in the day as Fordham summited Mount St. Mary’s University, 19-8.

On Sunday, October 29, he helped wrap-up a perfect 12-0 MAWPC regular season for the Rams by racking up pairs of goals and steals along with three ejections drawn in a 16-12 defeat of Bucknell.
