BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Hans Zdolsek (Gr., Linkoping, Sweden/Katedralskolan/Whittier College) of No. 16-ranked Fordham University totaled nine goals, six assists and six steals during a 3-1 opening weekend for the Rams at the Brown University Bruno Classic to claim honors as the September 6 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player of the Week.
He opened the Brown Classic on Saturday, September 4, at Harvard University’s Blodgett Pool with a goal and three assists in a 16-5 win over Division III No. 5 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and followed with three goals to go with an assist in the Rams’ 10-8 win over No. 18 Harvard University. On Sunday, September 5, at Brown, he netted two goals in a 6-5 loss to No. 15 Santa Clara University, while finishing the weekend with three goals and two assists in a 25-5 win over Mercyhurst University.
It marks the second weekly honor bestowed on Zdolsek who garnered status as the February 15 Rookie of the Week during the COVID-19 impacted 2020/Winter 2021 season.
