BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Jacopo Parrella (Fr., Naples, Italy/Umberto I State Classical) of No. 16-ranked Fordham University posted 11 goals and seven assists for the Rams at the Bucknell Invitational hosted by Bucknell University to earn kudos as the September 20 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.

The second Rams’ athlete to earn Rookie of the Week status over the past couple of weeks following September 13 pick George Papanikolaou (Fr., Athens, Greece/Athens College), he opened the weekend in Lewisburg, Pa., by tallying three goals with an assist in a 13-9 defeat of the defending MAWPC Champion/host Bison on September 18.  Following a two goal performance with an assist during a 14-6 victory over Mercyhurst later in the day, Parrella returned to the water on Sunday, September 19, to rack up a season-high four goals with three assists during a 15-10 MAWPC league defeat of Wagner College.

He concluded the weekend by notching pairs of goals and assists in a 21-8 management of Mount St. Mary’s University in a non-league game.

After missing the opening weekend while playing for Team Italy at the World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic, Parrella ranks fourth on the Rams in goals (15) and points (27), while being second in assists (12).
