BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Luca Silvestri (Jr., Napoli, Italy/Istituto Comprensvo Sacro Cuore (Westcliff University)) of No. 17-ranked Fordham University did not allow a goal from the two-meter defender position during league victories at George Washington University, No. 19 the United States Naval Academy and Division III No. 9 Johns Hopkins University to earn status as the October 2 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time Rookie of the Week (September 26, October 31) and prior Player of the Week (October 31) selection during his first season in the Bronx last year, he opened the weekend on Saturday, September 30, by netting four goals and two assists in an 18-6 victory at George Washington in Washington, D.C..  He closed out the day by adding another hat-trick with three goals in a 12-9 dispatching of host Navy in Annapolis, Md.

On Sunday, October 1, he capped off his weekend by notching a goal as the Rams rolled to a 28-12 victory at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md.
