BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Luca Silvestri (Jr., Napoli, Italy/Istituto Comprensvo Sacro Cuore (Westcliff University)) of No. 17-ranked Fordham University racked up two steals and three field blocks in a 17-11 league defeat of Wagner College at home in the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center on Wednesday, October 4, to earn status as the October 9 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.
A two-time Rookie of the Week (September 26, October 31) and prior Player of the Week (October 31) selection during his first season in the Bronx last year, he previously earned the October 2 Defensive Player of the Week award last week as he rates among a few athletes to earn a triple crown with all three awards during a collegiate career.
