BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lucas Nieto Jasny (Fr., Barcelona, Spain/Col-legi Closa) of No. 17-ranked Fordham University tallied 15 goals, 11 assists and six steals during a 5-1 road trip to the West Coast to earn recognition as both the October 4 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Player and Rookie of the Week.

The award marks the second and third weekly honors bestowed on Nieto Jasny who previously garnered notice as the September 27 MAWPC Rookie of the Week.

He opened the trip on Thursday, September 30, with two goals and an assist at Division III No. 6 University of Redlands in a 12-6 win and followed with two goals and two assists at Mt. San Antonio College in an 18-6 victory.

Nieto Jasny then scored twice in a win over Division III No. 2 California Lutheran University in a 10-9 win on Friday, October 1, during the first day of the Gary Troyer Tournament, while netting three goals, four assists and three steals to power the Rams past Westcliff University, 13-6. He finished the trip on Saturday, October 2, with four goals, three assists and two steals in a 14-11 dispatching of Division III No. 4 Whittier College to start the final day of play at the Gary Troyer Tournament and followed with two goals and an assist in a 12-6 loss to No. 7 Long Beach State University.

Nieto Jasny currently leads the Rams in goals (40) and points (64), while rating second in assists (24).
