BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Fordham University’s Michael Rahner (Sr., Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) anchored the defense of the No. 17-ranked Rams with nine steals and a pair of assists during a 4-0 league weekend at the Bucknell Invitational hosted by Bucknell University.  For his performance, Rahner collects status as the September 18 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Defensive Player of the Week.

He helped Fordham record a 4-0 mark in league competition with victories over the host Bison (14-11 W), Division III No. 8 Johns Hopkins University (21-8 W), Wagner College (14-5 W) and Mount St. Mary’s University (21-11 W).

He registered four steals and an assist against Johns Hopkins prior to tacking on three steals in helping to dispatch Wagner.  Against Wagner, he led a Rams’ defense which held the Seahawks without a goal for over 20 minutes of competition.

Ranher wrapped up the weekend by contributing an assist and two steals in topping Mount St. Mary’s.
