SALEM, W.Va. — Former Austin College athlete/coach Max Wade joins the Salem University men’s and women’s water polo programs as a Graduate Assistant Coach studying Kinesiology.
A native of Flower Mound, Texas, who competed in both swimming and water polo at Flower Mound High School, Wade continued his athletic career at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, from 2019-to-2022. A 2023 graduate of Austin, he received 2019 Division III Eastern Championship Rookie of the Tournament honors, 2021 Division III Eastern Championship First Team and 2022 Division III Eastern Championship Second Team notice along with 2019 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) First Team recognition.
A 2019 and 2021 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Second Team honoree, Wade served as a volunteer coach for the Austin women’s water polo program along with additional experiences as a coach with Pegasus Water Polo Academy, the Texas Mavericks Water Polo club and in the USA Water Polo Southwest Zone for the Olympic Development Program (ODP).
