BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former United States Naval Academy men’s water polo athlete Joseph Choi ’09 recently appeared on the University of California’s Haas’ Business School’s Haas Podcasts regarding his experience at the Naval Academy and the Navy SEALS, his inspiration via water polo to join the SEALs, completing an MBA at California and his current position as an account executive at Amazon Ads.
As the son of a Korean military vet, Choi grew up always wanting to go into the service. After attending the Naval Academy, he landed one of the few and coveted spots with the Navy SEALs and spent nine years in the service before enrolling at the Haas School of Business at California.
A former graduate assistant coach with the Golden Bears’ men’s water polo team, he discusses his parents’ journey to America from Korea, the intensive training he went through with the SEALs, lessons he brought from the military to business school along with explaining his current role at Amazon.
