HADLEY, Mass. — Mike Gertsik (Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y./Leon M. Goldstein), Sam Guy (So., Portland, Ore./Lincoln), Christian Jacobsen (So., Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) and Lucas Verrilli (Jr., Evanston, Ill./Evanston) of the Connecticut College men’s water polo team are among 52 Camels’ student-athletes to earn recognition on the 2020 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Fall All-Academic Team.
The honor marks the second NESCAC nod for Gertsik, while Jacobsen, Verrilli and Guy each garner their inaugural accolades.
A total of 693 student-athletes from Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University and Williams College were bestowed NESCAC All-Academic status.
To be honored, an individual must have been enrolled full-time during the fall semester, reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution.
