BALTIMORE, Md. — Andrew Mavis recorded five goals to lead George Washington University past host/Division III No. 5-ranked Johns Hopkins University, 20-10, at the Newton White Aquatic Center. Nine different Colonials scored in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region road victory. 

GW took the lead in the opening minute and pulled away quickly by scoring six of the first seven goals. After Johns Hopkins edged within 9-5 late in the second quarter, the Colonials scored the final goal of the half and the first two after the break to seize back momentum.

Andras Levai continued his strong freshman campaign with four goals and Atakan Destici added two goals, five assists and five steals. Kerim Sismanoglu, Pierce Deamer and Jordan Blosser also notched two goals apiece.

In net, GW’s Vaios Vlahotasios set a career high with 15 saves and also added two assists and a steal.
