2022 George Washington University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — George Washington University released the institution’s 2022 men’s water polo schedule.

The Colonials open the season in Annapolis, Md., on September 3-4, at the United States Naval Academy’s Navy Open as the GW will face Princeton University, Biola University, the University of California-Los Angeles and Salem University.

A week later, the team travels up I-95 to take on California Lutheran University, St. Francis College Brooklyn and Iona College at the Princeton Invitational hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., on September 10-11.

The team’s series of neutral site games continues on September 24-25 in Erie, Pa., as George Washington tangles with McKendree University, Mercyhurst University, Gannon University and Salem University to begin Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) competition at the Hallman Aquatics Center.

The Colonials will then return home for league games in Washington, D.C., against Bucknell University (October 1), Wagner College (October 1) and Navy (October 2) prior to hitting the road for MAWPC away contests at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Md. (October 8), Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa. (October 8), Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y. (October 15) and Wagner in Staten Island, N.Y. (October 15).

The team then travels to the West Coast for a single game at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, Calif. (October 20) prior to competing in the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament on October 21 at Santa Clara University before traveling to Berkeley, Calif., for an October 22 contest versus the University of California.

George Washington caps off its regular season MAWPC slate with away games at Navy (October 29) and in Baltimore, Md., at Johns Hopkins University (October 29).  A trio of home games conclude the docket as the Colonials host Mount St. Mary’s (October 30), Johns Hopkins (November 4) and Fordham (November 5) to set the stage for the 2022 MAWPC Championship hosted by Fordham in the Bronx on November 18-20.

The victor of the MAWPC Championship earns the league’s automatic berth to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
