BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Freshman Andras Levai (Budapest, Hungary/Cszik Ferenc Secondary School) of No. 17-ranked George Washington University recorded a team-high eight goals, three assists and 11 steals during a 1-3 weekend at the Princeton University Invitational to earn recognition as the September 11 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.

Facing No. 4 the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Colonials’ tournament opener, he recorded two goals in a 20-4 loss to the Bruins.  He posted his best performance of the weekend with four goals in an 18-11 defeat of Iona College.

Levai added two goals in a 10-6 loss to No. 14 Brown University to conclude his time in the water for George Washington.  He did not play in GW’s 14-8 loss to 2016 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion/No. 11 Harvard University.
