BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Former Carthage College athletes Rylee McGee and Grace Steinberg return to their alma mater as graduate assistant coaches on the staff of women’s water polo head coach Seth Hughes.
A 2026 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship All-Tournament Second Team selection, Steinberg notched 47 goals and 10 assists in helping the Firebirds reach the CWPA Division III Championship title game at Wheaton College (Mass.) and the program’s inaugural appearance at the USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Championship hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
The Arlington Heights, Ill., native and graduate of John Hersey High School posted 35 goals with five assists for 40 points in 2025 following a nine goals-six assists-15 points in 18 games as a sophomore in 2024 and five goals-two assists-seven points as a freshman in 2023.
She concluded her time as an athlete in Kenosha, Wisc., with 96 goals and 23 assists for 119 points in 98 games.
A goalkeeper, McGee racked up 37 saves in 2026 following a 2025 in which she recorded a goal, an assist and 118 saves in 746 minutes over 27 games. In 2024, the Schaumburg, Ill. native and graduate of Conant High School put up eight saves and two steals during 40 minutes of play in a pair of contests.
