NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Iona College athletics held its 37th annual Goal Club Hall of Fame Golf Outing on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle. During the event, the seventh Donald E. Walsh ’66 award was presented to former golf coach and faculty member Frank R. Fazio, Ph.D., ’65 and men’s water polo standout Greg P. Judge ’84.

Presented annually by the Iona College Goal Club to individuals who have demonstrated loyal support and service to Iona College Athletics through exceptional volunteerism, the Donald E. Walsh ’66 award continues a string of recognition for Judge.

A 2003 inductee to the Iona College Goal Club Hall of Fame and the eldest of five water polo standout brothers at Iona, Judge continues to ranks near the top of virtually every category in the record book. At the time of his induction, he ranked first all-time in points and steals per game averaging 5.5 points and 2.9 steals in 69 career matches.

He also ranked among the all-time single season leaders in points scored and assists by tallying 147 and 74, respectively, in 1983. Judge also holds three Iona single-game records. His 13 points, including a single-game best eight assists in a 1983 match versus Trinity College and 10 goals against the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1982, continue to rank among the best in each category.

The captain of the Gaels’ 1982 and 1983 squads, Judge was voted the teams’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) in both seasons. He tallied 380 points with 205 goals and 175 assists to accompany 200 steals.

The Iona Hall of Fame Golf Outing and Dinner directly benefits the Iona College Goal Club, which is the fund raising arm for Iona’s 21-sport athletics program. The donations received from the Hall of Fame Golf Outing help support scholarships, equipment and other essentials for the Gaels’ athletic programs.
