WASHINGTON, Pa. — Sophomore Reese Trauger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and junior Elaine Miller (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) combined for 13 goals to help lift the Grove City College women’s water polo team to a 16-15 victory at longtime rival Washington & Jefferson College in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III action.
Competing at W&J’s Henry Memorial Center Pool, Trauger fired in seven goals for Grove City and Miller added six goals in her 2021 field debut. Senior Alliefair Scalise (Clarence, N.Y/Clarence) added a pair of goals for the Wolverines.
Trauger and sophomore Michelle Danley (Friendswood, Texas/Friendswood) both assisted on five goals, while sophomore goalie Tia Kannel (York, Pa./Central York) recorded three assists. Miller added two assists and Scalise assisted a goal.
Kannel made her debut in goal and earned her first victory by making 10 saves. Trauger recorded a team-high three steals.
