BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Alexa Dunn (So., Girard, Pa./Girard) posted 30 saves and 18 steals during a 4-0 weekend for Grove City College at home in league action to garner recognition as the March 25 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.

A two-time Defensive Player of the Week selection in 2019 after sharing the March 11 award with teammates Elizabeth Andrews (Jr., Newberg, Ore./Newberg) and Tessa Leatherwood (So., Hurst, Texas/Colleyville Covenant), Dunn did in Washington & Jefferson College (18-10 W), Utica College (21-7 W), Connecticut College (16-10 W) and Penn State Behrend (14-12 W) as Grove City wrapped up the league regular season with a perfect 8-0 mark in CWPA Division III-East Region action.  Thanks to the perfect mark, the Wolverines locked up the No. 2 seed for the CWPA Division III Championship at Connecticut College’s Lott Natatorium in New London, Conn., on Friday-Sunday, April 12-14.

Dunn opened the weekend on Friday, March 22, by grabbing five steals and collecting 10 saves against Washington & Jefferson. She added two assists, five steals and seven saves in her team’s final game of the day versus Utica prior to notching three steals and six saves against Connecticut and five steals with seven saves in the weekend finale versus Penn State Behrend on Saturday, March 23.
