BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Elizabeth Andrews (Jr., Newberg, Ore./Newberg) and Tessa Leatherwood (So., Hurst, Texas/Colleyville Covenant) combined for 33 goals, 20 assists and 25 steals as the Grove City College Wolverines rolled to a 4-0 mark in the final weekend of Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-East Region competition at home.  For their performance, the duo share honors as the March 25 CWPA Division III Player of the Week.

Two-time weekly honor selections from the league office after sharing the March 11 CWPA Division III Defensive Player of the Week award with teammate/goalie Alexa Dunn (So., Girard, Pa./Girard), the pair helped Grove City defend its home tank of the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool against Washington & Jefferson College (18-10 W), Utica College (21-7 W), Connecticut College (16-10 W) and Penn State Behrend (14-12 W) to wrap-up the regular season with a perfenct 8-0 mark in CWPA Division III-East action.

The 8-0 record allows Grove City to enter the 2019 CWPA Division III Championship at Connecticut College in New London, Conn., on Friday-Sunday, April 12-14, as the No. 2 seed in a 10-team field.

Facing Washington & Jefferson in the Wolverines’ opening game of the weekend on Friday, March 22, Leatherwood found the back of the cage seven times with three assists and five steals, while Andrews chipped in three goals with a pair of assists and three steals.

High-scoring honors flipped in Grove City’s concluding game on March 22 as Andrews racked up six goals and two assists to accompany two goals, three assists and five steals by Leatherwood.

On Saturday, March 23, Leatherwood notched three goals, four assists and five steals compared to Andrews four strikes against Connecticut.  The pair wrapped up the four-game stand versus Penn State Behrend as Leatherwood registered three goals, two assists and three steals with Andrews flushing five shots with three helpers.
