BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Mary Frank (Sr., Centreville, Md./Queen Anne’s County) of Grove City College finished with a combined 19 saves against Saint Francis University and George Washington University in the Wolveriens’ season-opening games at the Mercyhurst University Invitational to garner recognition as the February 20 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
Competing at the Mercyhurst University Invitational hosted at the Prep-Villa Events Center in Erie, Pa., She notched 15 saves in a 14-5 loss to Saint Francis University prior to turning away four shots in a 17-4 defeat by George Washington University.
The award marks the first weekly honor bestowed on Frank from the league office during her intercollegiate playing career.
