NEW ROCHELLE N.Y. — Iona College alumna Hannah Schultz returns to the Gaels as a member of head coach Brian Kelly‘s coaching staff.
Prior to the start of her coaching career, Schultz was an outstanding player for the Iona women’s program from 2015-to-2018. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Iona in 2018 with her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has continued her education at Iona pursuing her Master’s of Science with a concentration in Occupational Therapy.
Through out her first three years of college, Schultz served as a swim instructor/swim coach at the Wykagly Country Club in New Rochelle, NY. After graduation she went back home to Illinois where she worked in her field at the Advocate Christ Pediatric Outpatient Center.
Among the best players in Gaels’ history, Schultz garnered a pair of Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-America Honorable Mention selections (2017, 2018), four All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First Team selections (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), 2017 Co-Offensive Player of the Year status her junior season and 2015 MAAC Rookie of the Year accolades in addition to concluding her career as Iona’s All-Time Leading Scorer with 379 goals.
