CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — No. 17-ranked Harvard University picked up a 19-14 win at home in Blodgett Pool against Division III No. 10 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) action to earn the program’s fifth straight victory.
Down 3-1 early, the Crimson battled back to tie the game by the end of the first quarter before taking a lead into halftime and never looking back.
Jack Burghardt led the way for Harvard, netting five goals and drawing five knockouts. The Crimson outscored the Engineers 13–7 across the second and third quarters to pull away from its Charles River rival. Harvard has now won six of its last seven games heading into the Harvard Invitational.
Mason Hunt finished the game with four assists, while Connor Kim added two goals and two assists.
Vilas Sogaard-Srikrishnan scored two goals and added an assist to accompany pairs of scores by Dean Strauser, Felix Pal, and Jake Tsotadze.
Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan added one goal and Oliver Price posted nine saves in the game.
