FUKUOKA, Japan — Hartwick College alumna Katie McKenty ’18 shot zero-for-one in 18:51 of competition as New Zealand dropped a 15-12 result against Israel at the 20th World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.

Due to the defeat, New Zealand falls into the 11th place game on Tuesday, July 25, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern versus South Africa.

Israel pulled away early in the contest by outscoring New Zealand 3-1 and 5-3 in the first and second quarters, respectively, to acquire an 8-4 spread prior to halftime.  The margin grew to 13-6 by the end of the third quarter before New Zealand attempted a comeback by outscoring Israel 6-2 in the fourth quarter.
