BRIDGEPORT, Pa. —  Lena Kotanchyan (So., Moscow, Russia/Elk Island School) of No. 12-ranked Hartwick College
tallied 13 goals, five assists, eight steals and six drawn exclusions in a 4-1 week for the Hawks on the West Coast to record notice as the March 26 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.

She opened the week on Saturday, March 24, with three goals, an assist and four drawn exclusions in a 12-11 sudden death overtime defeat of No. 19 California State University-Northridge.  Following a 24-14 win versus Division III No. 9 Occidental College, Kotanchyan posted four goals with an assist in a 15-7 loss to No. 4 University of California-Los Angeles. 

On Sunday, March 25, she recorded two goals, three assists, two steals and two drawn exclusions in a 16-7 defeat of Division III No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges prior to wrapping up the weekend with four goals and three steals in a 10-8 victory over Division III No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.

A four-time Rookie of the Week selection after earning recognition on February 6, March 6, April 17 and May 1 in 2017, she claimed the February 5 Player and March 12 co-Player of the Week awards earlier this season to now stand with seven weekly nods from the league office.
