BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lena Kotanchyan (So., Moscow, Russia/Elk Island School) of No. 15-ranked Hartwick College netted 15 goals with eight assists and eight steals in a 5-0 weekend for the Hawks at the 2018 Brown University Bruno Classic to garner recognition as the February 5 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.
A four-time Rookie of the Week selection after earning recognition on February 6, March 6, April 17 and May 1 during the 2017 season, she began the weekend with two goals and four assists in an 18-10 defeat of Villanova University.
Following a goal and an assist in a 15-8 triumph over Iona College, Kotanchyan closed out the first day of competition with a game-high five goals and an assist in a 15-8 defeat of No. 24 California Baptist University.
She finished out the weekend with four goals in a 14-6 defeat of No. 18 San Diego State University prior to accumulating three goals with a pair of assists as Hartwick managed McKendree University, 21-12.
