BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zsofia Polak (Sr., Dunaujvaros, Hungary/Rudas) of No. 13-ranked Hartwick College reeled off 18 goals and 19 assists in four games during a 5-0 weekend for the Hawks to earn recognition as the February 26 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.

Facing a slew of fellow New York Division I opponents, Polak opened the weekend by punching in five goals with three assists in a 20-15 win at Iona College in New Rochelle on Friday, February 23.  She followed with four goals and six assists in an 18-17 overtime defeat of No. 15 Wagner College in Staten Island prior to racking up three goals and seven helpers in a 21-11 victory at St. Francis College Brooklyn on Saturday, February  24. 

On Sunday, February 25, she concluded her team’s five-game, four-town road-trip by totaling six goals, three assists and seven steals in a 17-9 win at Marist College after Hartwick downed Siena College, 12-7, earlier in the day.

The award marks Polak’s sixth weekly honor from the league office as she was named the CWPA Division I Player of the Week in 2015 (March 16), 2016 (February 8, April 1) and 2017 (February 27, April 17).
