BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Zsofia Polak (Sr., Dunaujvaros, Hungary/Rudas) of No. 13-ranked Hartwick College racked up 14 goals, five assists, six steals and 10 ejections drawn during a 3-1 weekend at the Indiana Classic hosted by Indiana University to earn recognition as the March 5 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Player of the Week.

She opened the weekend on Saturday, March 3, by racking up three goals with an assist as the Hawks downed the host/No. 13 Hoosiers by a 13-11 final score in the opening game of the CWPA league season.  Polak followed up the performance with five goals, an assist and five steals in a 16-9 defeat of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

Facing No. 23 Marist College on Sunday, March 4, she notched four goals with three helpers and five drawn exclusions in a 15-14 loss to the Red Foxes.  In the weekend finale against Mercyhurst University, she reeled off a pair of goals in a 14-2 win to raise her team best season totals to 52 goals, 30 assists and 91 points.

The award marks Polak’s seventh weekly honor from the league office as she was named the CWPA Division I Player of the Week in 2015 (March 16), 2016 (February 8, April 1) and 2017 (February 27, April 17) prior to earning the February 26 award earlier this season.
