CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The 2019 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Championship game pitting Harvard University versus Princeton University at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on November 24 comes in at No. 6 in the Crimson’s countdown of the “Top Games of the Century”.
The victory by the Crimson marked the 200th career win by head coach Ted Minnis and improved Harvard to 29-0 on the season.
Trailing 6-5 early in the second half, Harvard rallied back to knot the score at six-all by the end of the third quarter. Princeton scored first in the fourth frame to pull ahead 7-6, but the Crimson rallied back as a successful penalty shot by Alex Tsotadze provided the difference for Crimson to claim an 8-7 victory and and the program’s third NWPC title in four years (2016, 2017, 2019).
