BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Andrej Basica (Fr., Belgrade, Serbia/Third Belgrade Grammar School) of No. 18-ranked Harvard University.racked up 15 goals three assists and a pair of steals during a 3-1 weekend for the Crimson at home during the 2021 Brown University Bruno Classic. For his performance, Basica is named the September 6 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) co-Rookie of the Week with Player of the Week Roko Pozaric (Fr., Zagreb, Croatia/Gimnazija Titusa Brezovackog) of No. 12 Princeton University.
Competing at home in Blodgett Pool as the Crimson hosted four games over on Saturday-Sunday, September 4-5, as part of Brown’s tournament, Basica started his collegiate career on September 4 with five goals, an assist and a pair of steals in a 24-6 victory over Mercyhurst University. Following a two goal output in a 10-8 loss to No. 16 Fordham University to wrap-up Day One competition, he returned to the pool on Sunday, September 5, to reel off seven goals in a 16-12 win versus Wagner College prior to chipping in a goal, two assists and a steal in a 21-10 managing of Austin College.
